What is an\u00a0illustrationist?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s more than just an illustrator.\u00a0\u00a0More than just a graphic recorder.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Like a kind of visual illusionist, I bring your ideas to life.\u00a0\u00a0Right before your very eyes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My whole career to this point prepared me for this.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Illustration<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

You name\u00a0it,\u00a0I probably drew or painted it for a client.\u00a0 Ads, book covers, products, magazines, textbooks,\u00a0websites\u00a0\u2013 I took a wide range of projects to illustrate, most with a sense of whimsy and fun.\u00a0 It\u2019s not surprising, then, that I segued into writing and illustrating children\u2019s books.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Drawing Live<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The best-kept secret about children\u2019s authors is that they make most of their money from presenting in schools.\u00a0 So for a decade, I worked with kids \u2013 110,000 at the final count \u2013 teaching them the basics of narrative and then drawing the key scene of the story we just invented right in front of young audiences.\u00a0 It taught me to think on my feet.\u00a0\u00a0And to draw fast.\u00a0There\u2019s nothing like the attention span of kindergartners to inspire speed!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Graphic Recording<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

In 2010, I was ready for something new.\u00a0 A friend hired me to try visual capture in a series of meetings, and I was hooked.\u00a0 Since then, I\u2019ve traveled the country, scribing in hundreds of sessions for clients in many fields: retail, health care, manufacturing, financial, government \u2013 the list goes on.\u00a0 At last count, I\u2019ve worked for 17 of the Fortune 100 companies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital Art<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

When I\u2019m not traveling, I\u2019m in the studio creating art for clients.\u00a0 Since I started my career in the days of hand-delivered paper sketches,\u00a0I\u2019m loving\u00a0the ease and speed of digital drawing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Personal stuff\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

I live with my wife in Lewisburg, PA, which is a serenely beautiful place and still within a 3-hour drive of New York, Philly, Baltimore and D.C.\u00a0 I love to document my travels, whether in my hand-drawn journal or through photos I share on social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
